Journal Authors enjoy many benefits from publishing with Wiley-Blackwell.
A growing number of Wiley-Blackwell journals offer authors the chance to submit online to reduce time to publication. Online submission systems (such as ScholarOne Manuscripts, formerly known as Manuscript Central) can provide authors with, on average, 25% faster referee times. Over 80% of surveyed authors using an online submission system find it easier than hard copy submission++.
Wiley-Blackwell Author Services production tracking enables both corresponding authors and co-authors to follow their article through the production process. Once the author's accepted paper is with the Production Editor, the corresponding author will receive an e-mail with a unique code (in the format 123456-123456) that automatically adds the article to the Author Services profile when the author registers. The author will have the option to receive automated e-mails at key stages of production. To enjoy this production-tracking benefit, please ensure that the manuscript contains the corresponding author's complete e-mail address. There may be a short delay from acceptance to receiving the alert whilst the article is added to the production tracking system.
Wiley-Blackwell publishes fully peer-reviewed, corrected articles ahead of issue publication, enabling readers to access information faster. This service is known as EarlyView and is offered by more than 500 Wiley-Blackwell journals. Some journals also offer OnlineAccepted, where articles are published online immediately after acceptance, before copy-editing. Both OnlineAccepted and EarlyView articles are citable.
The EarlyView service presents full-text, peer-reviewed, copyedited articles as soon as they are complete, before the release of the compiled print issue. Articles are posted following receipt of the authors' corrected proofs. They include all figures and tables and are fully citable.
Since EarlyView articles are fully integrated within the Wiley Online Library platform, they may be retrieved using the search and browse functions, delivered to your desktop via e-mail Alerts, and viewed at the journal's home page. Every EarlyView article carries an online publication date and a DOI for citations.
Author access: Many authors get free online access to their published article by registering in Author Services**. When the registered article reaches online publication, a link will appear. Upon accepting the Terms & Conditions of use of the PDF, the author will be able to view the article.
Colleague Access: Many authors also may nominate up to ten colleagues to be notified upon publication and receive free online access to the article**. Once the article is registered by the corresponding author, s/he can provide the e-mail addresses of co-authors. Both co-authors and the corresponding author may each nominate up to 10 people to receive a publication alert and invitation to view the online article for free. This feature is designed to drive up readership of the article, and may lead to additional citations. No other publisher is as generous with author benefits and engages in such innovative activities to promote article citations and readership.

More than 280 Wiley-Blackwell journals are now trialing OnlineOpen: a new open access option through which authors can choose to make their articles available free for all readers through the payment of an author fee. For full details visit OnlineOpen.
Journal articles are available online on Wiley Online Library. Wiley's successful subscription and consortia sales program means these articles are accessible in subscribing libraries across the world. Many articles are also available free in developing countries and at reduced rates in the Newly Independent States through Wiley's participation in the WHO's HINARI initiative, the FAO's AGORA project, and the Programme for the Enhancement of Research Information run by INASP.
Research˜˜ has revealed a correlation between online usage and subsequent citations for journal articles. Wiley-Blackwell's efforts to increase online readership also have a subsequent impact on citations. We ensure that Wiley journal articles will be read by the relevant specialists by employing the most important routes to research. Authors tracking their article in Author Services may nominate up to 10 specialists to receive a publication notice and invitation to view the PDF free; this feature is designed to drive readership and citations to the article.
