Open access agreement with the Association of Dutch Universities (VSNU)

Publish open access with Wiley

Beginning 4 March 2016, authors from an institution affiliated with the Association of Dutch Universities (VSNU) may publish primary research and review articles open access in any of Wiley's hybrid, OnlineOpen journals at no charge to the author.

To publish without having to pay additional article publication charges, the article's corresponding author must be from an eligible university and the article must have been accepted on or after 4 March 2016. (View VSNU Eligible Universities)

To be eligible:

  • Your manuscript must have been accepted on or after 4 March 2016
  • You must be the corresponding author who is affiliated with a VSNU eligible Institution at the point of acceptance1
  • You must order OnlineOpen at the point of acceptance by using our order workflow as described underneath2
  • All primary research and review articles qualify3

Submit Your Article Submit your article to an OnlineOpen journal (View list)
Log-in or register to Author Services Once accepted, you'll be asked to log-in or register to Author Services
Select Order OnlineOpen Click My Publications. Next to your article, select Order OnlineOpen
Select Your Institution Fill out the OnlineOpen order form and select your VSNU institution under Funder/Institution Payment
That's it! Once your eligibility has been verified, your institution will cover the article publication charge

Your article will be made open access immediately on publication.

1If you are no longer affiliated with VSNU-eligible institution at the point of acceptance of your paper, you do not qualify.

2If you don't order OnlineOpen initially, your manuscript will be published under the traditional closed access model. You may order OnlineOpen retrospectively but once your paper is published in Early View or In Issue online you are no longer eligible to publish OnlineOpen at no charge.

3Other article types e.g. letters, editorials etc. are excluded.
