Open access agreement for authors at eligible Japanese institutions

Publish open access with Wiley

Authors affiliated with eligible Japanese institutions may publish open access in any Wiley hybrid journal (subscription-based journals which offer an open access option) and in any Wiley and Hindawi fully open access journal.

To be eligible:

• You must be the
  responsible corresponding authorThe responsible corresponding author is the author who manages the manuscript and correspondence during the publication process - from submission through publication. This author has the authority to act on behalf of all the co-authors and will also be the contact for inquiries after publication.
  who is affiliated with an eligible Japanese institution at the point of acceptance¹
• You must publish open access in a hybrid (subscription) journal that offers open access, or submit your article to a fully open access journal under the Wiley or Hindawi portfolios.
• Your article must be primary research or a review article².
• For Wiley hybrid journals, you must order hybrid open access by using the order workflow on Wiley Author Services.
• For Wiley fully open access journals, please refer to and follow the steps laid out in this guide, or declare your affiliated institutions when requested during the submission process, to submit your article’s open access APC to said institutions.
• To publish in a Hindawi fully open access journal, please follow this guide.
• Your manuscript must have been accepted for publication in a Wiley hybrid (subscription) journal, or submitted to a Wiley fully open access or Hindawi journal on or after 1 January 2023 or on or after 1 January 2024.
• This agreement cannot be used to cover additional charges (e.g. cover, color, and page charges), which individual journals administer separately
