Beginning 4 March 2016, authors affiliated with Dutch Universities/UMCs (VSNU) may publish primary research and review articles open access in any of Wiley's hybrid journals (subscription-based journals which offer an open access option at no charge to the author).
To publish without having to pay additional Article Publication Charges, the article's responsible corresponding author must be from an eligible university or UMC and the article must have been accepted on or after 4 March 2016. (View Eligible Universities)
You can be confident that by choosing open access your work has the best chance to be read, cited and shared. Read more about the advantages of publishing open access here.
When selecting open access, your institution and many funders strongly recommend choosing CC BY license (rather than CC BY-NC or CC BY-NC-ND) where available.
Publishing gold open access:
Follow this step by step guide to making your article open access in a hybrid journal – at no cost to yourself:
Go to the Wiley Author Services Dashboard now, to select open access for your article.
Please contact your university or library with questions or visit www.openaccess.nl for more information.
1If you are no longer affiliated with an eligible Dutch University/UMC (VSNU) institution at the point of acceptance of your paper, you do not qualify.
2If you don't order open access initially, your manuscript will be published under the traditional closed access model. You may order open access retroactively, but once your paper is published in Early View or In Issue online you are no longer eligible to publish open access at no charge.
3Other article types e.g. letters, editorials etc. are excluded.
