Wiley and Hungarian Electronic Information Service Programme (EISZ) have an agreement which allows eligible authors to publish open access without paying an article publication charge (APC). The cost of publishing is covered under the terms of the agreement.
Corresponding authors affiliated with participating EISZ institutions may publish open access in any fully open access or hybrid journal, at no charge*. By choosing open access an article is immediately and freely available for all to read, download and share.
Update November 2025: Funding is no longer available for authors wishing to publish open access in Wiley hybrid or fully open access journals via the Wiley-EISZ agreement. The agreement has reached its maximum article allowance until January 2026. Authors can still choose to publish open access in hybrid or fully open access journals; however, the publishing fee will not be covered under the agreement. Authors should use alternative funding sources to cover these costs.
*subject to availability of sufficient funds or article allocations (at editorial acceptance) and approval from eligible institutions' Wiley Open Access Account holders.
If a funding request has been approved but funds/article allocations are no longer available when an article has been editorially accepted and an OA license has been signed, the author will receive an email telling them that their funding request has been denied due to funding exhaustion unless other funding arrangements for their institution are in place.
Your institution wants you to make your article open access.
