Open access agreement for authors at eligible UK institutions

Publish open access with Wiley

Authors affiliated with UK institutions participating in Wiley’s Jisc agreement may publish primary research and review articles in any of Wiley's and Hindawi's fully gold open access journals and Wiley’s hybrid (subscription-based) journals which offer open access with no further open access costs* to the author.

To publish without having to pay additional Article Publication Charges (APCs), the article's responsible corresponding author must be from an eligible institution and the article must have been accepted on or after 1 January 2024 if submitted to a Wiley hybrid journal, and on submission from 1 January 2024 if submitting to a Wiley or Hindawi fully gold open access journal.

When selecting open access, Jisc institutional members have expressed that eligible authors should choose the CC BY licence where available to meet the requirements of the Jisc agreement.

You can be confident that by choosing open access, your work will have the best chance to be read, cited, and shared. Read more about the advantages of publishing open access here.

*subject to availability of sufficient funds and approval from eligible institutions' Wiley Open Access Account holders
